6 Creative, Yet Affordable, Gift Ideas

  1. Unused Airline Miles/Hotel Miles- Contrary to popular belief, mileage on most airline programs actually does expire. If you aren’t planning a trip yourself, give the miles as a gift.
  2. Amazon.com Used Books- The used books on Amazon.com offers you the opportunity to maximize your dollars. Often times you can get 3-4 books that are used in great shape for the price of 1 new book. We won’t tell if you don’t!
  3. Create a Gift Basket- Creating a gift basket is a great idea for a truly personalized gift. Jot down a few thoughts about the person such as their favorite color, do they love chocolate, is there a favorite magazine they like, and build your basket around that theme.
  4. Make a Donation to a Favorite Charity- What a better way to honor a friend or family member than making a donation to their favorite charity in their name. Plus, you get the bonus of a tax write off (consult your accountant for details).
  5. Create a Coffee Table Book- It is so easy to “publish” your own book you won’t believe it. My favorite company is www.blurb.com where you can create a soft cover book with 20-40 pages for as little as $12.95.
  6. Offer Your Talents; Host a Class- Take a minute and think about your talents. Are you a great cook? Do you love to work out? Are you a pro at Photoshop? Whatever your talent may be, chances are your friends and family would love to learn. Plus, it is a great item to add to your resume!
